Horse that have raced in the English Grand National should be avoided, the last Scottish Grand National winner to race in the English Grand National was in 1987 and 80 horses have tried since this date and failed.

This should rule out Auroras Encore, Because i couldn’t see & Major Malarkey.

You need to look for a horse that has had at least three previous runs this season as these are statistically more likely to win the race, also I would rule out horses that have had more the 7 runs this season.

You are looking for a horse that has been placed 6 or better in it’s last run.

You should eliminate anything that fell or was pulled up in it’s last run as these horse have won zero times out of one hundred and 16 attempts.

Horses from Ordinary Novice Chases are 0-21 so they are unlikely to win.

A run within the last 60 days would be a big tangent.

Horses coming from 2m 6f or shorter struggled to do well in the Scottish Grand National

Older horses have a very poor record in the Scottish National, horses aged 11 or more were 4-96, although a horse 11 or over with recent good runs may overcome this statistic.
